Nothing

This is my nothing photo and yes it is of my refrigerator in my apartment. To me this was my best option because what says nothing but an empty ice box. So for this I took everything out my ice box and kept random things in there like water, mustard and butter. Because randomness and emptiness goes hand and hand and I wanted to convey emotion. Some people when they see this photo might get the emotion of sadness and wanting to help the family going through this actual phase in their life so if I did great. The reason why I blacked out everything cause I wanted the viewer to only focus on the empty ice box nothing else in the photo nothing else. I shoot on the floor at 61/60 sec @6.3 f/stop.

Networking

So the question today is how to get your name out in the public eye. What can I do to accomplish this goal that I have set for myself. The first thing I thought of was doing some work for charity and getting name passed on from that. As well as doing some small time advertsing like nothing like billboards. By attending local events with my camera shooting and hope some people notice me or I notice them and we talk from that point on. Networking is all about how bad you want it if you want it bad you get the right people if not you be out of luck and you also need to take some chances as well.

This is my food shot its of a cupcake from a bakery in town I used a 50mm to get a good depth of field and a get the cupcake in crisp focus. I wanted to make the viewer feel hungry like they are there. wanted to really show the chocolate shining off the cupcake and I think I did that. I just wish I had better lighting I just had the ceiling light from the bakery so it was my first attempt to shoot food but it wont be my last.

celebrities fair game

So are celebrities fair game do we photographers have the right to follow these people everywhere and photograph anything they do. Me personally I don't care what they do that just me but from a photographers point of view they are fair game as long it doesn't go to far like evading their privacy. But if there outside getting coffee I can follow them to their car as long its a public place so I say YES. Sadly to say they are public figures in our society as that we can follow them to certain extent and photograph them. But their is a line that we photographers I think don't cross thats we don't photograph them while evading their privacy thats my opinion I will never trespass on their property go in a helicopter and photograph them in their home. I will never be aggresive shooting while their children are around. So photograph them but don't take it to far okay people.

40 Years and More

Right now am 23 years old and am currently working at H&M to pay the bills and support myself but I don't want to do that forever. In 17 years I'll be 40 years old but those 17 years are going to get here fast. So when am 40 years old I hope to be a full time photographer based out of Europe photographing Formula One and Moto GP. This will be my dream to photograph my favorite sport for a living and get paid for it. But I will also photograph the MMA scene when the UFC comes to Europe for their fights. I will be famous for photographing motor sports and being the lead photographer for F1 and Moto GP. One thing I would love to do is something for veterans of the military coming from a military family knowing what these vets go thru I want to some charity work with organzations like wounded warriors to give back to the world. This is my dream I have in life.

Photo Challenge Celebrity

Here is my attempt in becoming a paparazi photographer. It of Slevester Stallone at the Tatto Expo I was sort of yelling at him to look at me and give me a smile so he did. I just had my canon with my on camera sigma flash nothing fancy. Their was a lot of light from the ceiling and other photographers around me but it wasnt a problem. Even though it was my first time it was fun and engaging.

Painting with Light

This is my painting with light challenge so I decided to write FARSCOPE my alter ego in the air. Well about the photo it was taken at f/16 30 sec with 400 ISO. I took a flashlight and my cell phone to write my name and after numerous times I finally got it down and this was my best one. I wanted to to do something that is me and nothing represents myself  than the name farscope. The building in background gave a guide to write name and flowed with the perspective of everything in the environment that was something I just found when looking at the picture on my pc so I lucked out there. This was first time painting with light but this wont be the last I plan on trying out this technique and improving at every one.

Copyright What to Do

So what to do to protect yourself from infringment. Like everyone else we have to prottec ourselves at all cost from everything. So some people want to get a copyright  but dont know how to get one now this where I come in and educate them. First thing is this once the photo has been taken register with the Electronic Copyright Office. Fill out the paperwork and file it its only 65 dollars and yeah you might thinks thats much but think about the future this photo you are about to copyright is going to make some money so the 65 dollars isn't much. Yes only copyright work that will make you money dont copyright every single image you take casue honsetly who does that. Once you do all that paper work fun stuff makesure you use whatever program Lightroom etc submit your forms with your data on it and there it is. But visit the copyright website to further gain knowledge about this stuff because whats the price of your artwork because its your livelyhood so protect it at all cost.

Writing A Contract

Composing a contract is a very serious matter you make or lose money if done correctly or incorrectly. Yes some contracts will be different from others studio contracts will have some differences from a sports event contract but they have the same objective. That is to make money and promoting you as a photographer in your city, country or the world. If a client asked me to photograph a sporting event  for $500 the contract would entitle copyright issues and the way these photos will be used after this event is over. Of course make sure the client understands the terms of the contract.

My Voice: Can You Hear Me?

Well am not your typical photographer what I mean by that I found photography really late in my school career.Growing up my thing was sports not art that was the last thing on my mind. But in junior year of high school I need a class to fill up my schedule. That was the greatest decision of my life because without I probably would have done the typical college thing.I wouldn't have been exposed to works of Walter Ioos a renowned sports photographer and James Natchwey famous photojournalist and be inspired. With photography I could take two of my passions in life sports and journalism and take it to a new heights and show it to the world. I think thats the beauty of photography the ability of a single picture to inspire people all over the world as it did for me.

Action Photo

This is my action photo for today its a high school football game here at Green Valley High School in Henderson against Silverado High School. We all know that football is one of the most physical demanding sports in the world to two a days practices everyday the constant training during the season it takes a toll on the body but its all worth it when game time gets closer. Pictured here is young trying to evade tacklers to gain those valuable yards for a 1st down to get team back in the game in which he did. When I took this photo I could the face of the young man as he ran for his life. He was surrounded by  the opposing side from it looked he wasn't going to get nothing from this play but he did he evaded everyone and scored a touchdown. I f i dent tell you that this picture would just another football picture but with that back story it becomes something else it becomes a picture of triumph and the will to do anything for the win and thats why I picked this to be my action shot for this week.

Eoc Week 3: Where am I now and Where do I want to be?

You ask most twenty three year olds about their future saving money isn't going to come up if it does its probably the last thing they talk about. Because lets face young people right now are worried about their financial future. We all want to live young while we can and when we reach thirty thats when we think about those grown up things. But the post isn't about money its about where am I now and where do I want be in five to ten years time. What do I have to do to get to my personal and professional goals because I don't wont to be in Las Vegas no more than three years after school is done. My main goal after school is move overseas to Europe and begin shooting sports either in England or Holland and hopefully get a job photography Formula One and Moto GP for a living. The reason I picked three years is I think that would be good time to save enough money to move to my destination and be fairly young still. Am currently not saving towards my goal even though I should and to be honest with you I don't know why and if I keep this mind set I won't reach that goal. Other things are popping in the way you can say (distractions). Now another question was asked RETIREMENT? That got me thinking am 23 years old should I be thinking about 401k or retirement plans? Part of me says yes but the Buddhist in me says do worry about 40 years from now worry about today and be awake today. Both sides present good reasons I want to be prepared but I want to live in the now not the future or else I will miss out on the now. So my solution to this is take it year by year have small financial goals that I can attain and reach and go from there. With plan its a win either way and I like to win.

What are you willing to do?

So what are you willing to do for your dream or dream job? Are you willing to sacrifice time with your family to photograph a super bowl? Are you willing to risk your life and go to Afghanistan and be embedded with military unit? Me as a photographer I say yes and yes I would. Because who knows you might capture the game wining touchdown or capture an amazing play like Walter Ioos did with the catch. One photo can change your entire life and immortalize you forever. Yes I would risk my life to go to Afghanistan and document that conflict because it is my duty as a photographer to let the world know what happening and to show the good and bad going on because if I don't I wouldn't be doing my job as a photojournalist. The possibility the change the world with one photo that is something you cannot pass up. So take the risk cause you don't want to say to yourself " I wish I did that" and no one what to live like that.
